MASON––– Jumping Jack Press, the pop-up book imprint from Up With Paper, has been honored with its fourth Moonbeam Children’s Book Award in the Best Pop-Up/Cut-Out Book category.  The company’s Snowflakes title received the Gold Moonbeam Award for the Best Pop-Up or Cut-Out Book published in the last year.
The juried Moonbeam Awards honor the year’s best children’s books, authors, and illustrators.  More than 1000 book entries for the Awards were received from authors and publishers in the US and around the world.
            Snowflakes, authored by Jennifer Preston Chushcoff and illustrated and engineered by Yevgeniya Yeretskaya, under the creative direction of Monika Brandrup, consists of seven intricate and dazzling spreads, featuring beautiful artwork and educational and fun copy dedicated to the phenomenon of snowflakes.  Snowflakes features two editorial tracks—a fun story about snowflakes for children of all ages, and interesting and educational information about the science and photography of snowflakes.  The designs and pop-ups provide unexpected surprises that delight pop-up book fans of all ages.
